World Leaders, Buhari, IBB, Governors, Ooni congratulate Tinubu

Congratulatory messages from all over the world, came in torrents for Nigeria’s President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, who was in the early hours of March 1, declared winner of the 2023 Presidential Election.

United Kingdom prime minister Rishi Sunak congratulated Nigeria’s president-elect Bola Tinubu on his victory at the 2023 presidential election. “Congratulations to Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his victory in Nigeria,” Sunak tweeted Wednesday.

Sunak restated “The UK-Nigeria relationship remains strong. I look forward to working together to grow our security and trade ties, opening up opportunities for businesses and creating prosperity in both our countries.”

Earlier in the day, Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhariin his congratulatory message to Asiwaju Tinubu, dcelared that the President-elect as “the best man for the job”

Buhari, who is would conclude his second tenure in office and hand over to Asiwaju Tinubu on May 29 said “Elected by the people, he is the best person for the job. I shall now work with him and his team to ensure an orderly handover of power,” presidential spokesman Garba Shehu quoted Buhari.

“The election was Africa’s largest democratic exercise. In a region that has undergone backsliding and military coups in recent years, this election demonstrates democracy’s continued relevance and capability to deliver for the people it serves.”

So also, Nigeria’s former military President General Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida (rtd} congratulated the president-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, over his election as the 16th President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

In a statement issued by his media office, IBB commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for midwifing an election, which he said would lead to a new Nigeria.

Babangida commended Nigerians for going out enmasse to exercise their voting rights and electing someone like Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the next President of Nigeria.

According to him, “it’s a thing of joy that this is happening in my lifetime. I can confidently say that Tinubu is a good man for the job.

“I have no doubt that Tinubu would perform as the President of Nigeria. For some of us, who have been there before, I know that there is still more works to be done, and I believe that Tinubu has what it takes to take Nigeria to the next level.

“We have much potentials as a nation, what we need is a good direction so that we can continue to be seen as the giant of Africa. Indeed our best is yet to come, but we can get to where we ought to be with determination and commitment.”

Babangida, said further that Tinubu is coming from the background of a performer, who loves his people with all his hearts and who knows how to put a round peg in a round hole.

While urging Nigerians to join hands with Tinubu in the business of repairing the nation, he appealed to other candidates to see the emergence of the former Lagos Governor as the will of God, saying that the work of nation building requires that all hands must be on deck.

“This is a bright moment for Nigeria, we have to take our destiny in our hands and make things work for us as a nation. We cannot continue to do things the same way, and I believe that God will make things work for this country again,” he said, adding that a new dawn has come for Nigeria.

Congratulatory messages also came from governors on the platform of the APC in Ekiti, Kebbi, Kaduna, Kwara, Lagos, Ogun Jigawa, Yobe anf from notable politicians, political leaders and traditional rulers from accross the country.

The Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty, Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi congratulated the flagbearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and winner of the just concluded presidential election in Nigeria, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his emergence as president elect of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, urging him to start working even before inauguration.

In a statement released on Wednesday by the Ooni’s Palace Director of Media and Public Affairs, Otunba Moses Olafare, the Oonirisa described Tinubu as a man of destiny, a game changer and a progressive workaholic who does not only merit the victory but also has adequate proven capacity to lead the country to an enviable position in the global committee of nations.

Ogunwusi said “Your Excellency, I congratulate you and your amiable wife on behalf of the Oduduwa race worldwide as you have victoriously emerged as the President-elect of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“You are indeed a man of destiny, you are a game changer and you are a progressive workaholic who has worked assiduously with right strategy and tactics justifying the merit of your recorded victory.

“As a pragmatic leader and manager of resources with adequate proven capacity to lead this country to an enviable position within the global committee of nations, please don’t disappoint Nigerians and the African people.” Ooni said.

Ooni charged Tinubu to immediately assemble a transition team of cerebral men and women to come up with an economic recovery blueprint and swiftly upon his inauguration on May 29th 2023 move into action in a way that will further assure Nigerians of the ‘Renewed Hope’

“As a tested and trusted cerebral team leader that you are, you must in a couple days present your transition team of cerebral men and women to give us an economic recovery blueprint as Nigerians can not wait to be liberated from the unbearable economic hardship that has bedeviled the country in the recent times.

“Nigerians have voted for you because of your promise of a ‘Renewed Hope” and you must swiftly from your first day in office come May 29th 2023 set the ball rolling in a manner that will further assure Nigerians of the ‘Renewed Hope’. Ooni said.
