FLED Institute holds Lagos People and Power Conference, advocates national cohesion through positive narratives

The Foundation for Leadership, Education and Development FLED institute, a think tank organisation that equips leaders with the necessary skills needed to become transformational leaders held its People and Power Conference on the 12th of June 2023 in commemoration of Democracy Day in Nigeria.
People and Power Conference is one of the programs of FLED institute that provides opportunity of mentorship for leadership and also to discuss and network.
The theme for its 2023 conference is Promoting National cohesion through positive narratives.
Speakers at event include Rev. Olumide Olugbenle, fca, a transformation implementation expert, who posited that massive investments in critical programs that will change the narratives must be encouraged and Dr. Bolaji Akinyemi, who advised participants to first analyse how we have become victims of negative narratives and work on changing the mindset because there is no way a victim can save a Nation while Dr Olunifesi Adekunle Suraj, an associate professor of social media strategic communication, disinformation and media regulation at the department of mass communications. University of Lagos, spoke about harnessing our diversity for National growth. China, has more population than Nigeria and they live in peace because they have surmounted their cultural challenges.

The conference was moderated by the President of FLED group, Dr Joseph Ibekwe.
The conference planning chair is Mosunmola Omokunga, who is an entrepreneur.
The co-coordinator of the event was Funmilayo Arowoogun a pastor and an entrepreneur.
On that same date another new project of FLED international leadership institute was unveiled. The maiden edition of Decide to make Impact Very Early in your life or career (DIVE) leadership experience was flagged off.
The project is an Avenue where accomplished leaders are invited to share knowledge and stories on their leadership journey that will help new and emerging leaders learn new edge cutting skills and skillset that will impact and accelerate their leadership journey.
The project gave the right mental shift an individual needs to get going in the leadership journey.
The dive experience was anchored by Ms Olanike Kolawole, DGM consumer banking Ecobank_ Lagos. She spoke about Team management and how to select members of a team and put them in positions of their strengths or weaknesses.
Dr Joseph Ibekwe the President of FLED group moderated the session and also gave some insightful tips that is useful in the leadership journey.
Mr Tim Akano, M.D new Horizons Nigeria talked about the availability of leaders and how to listen to your intuition and live your dreams.
Bishop Benson Ashiedu, G.O world changer int’l church Lagos talked about Forgiveness. A leader must have the ability to forgive and control his / her temperament. The true test of a leader is the ability to forgive and move on.
We currently have members across the federation and have affiliations with Gambia and Uganda and we plan to gain more traction in Africa.

CATEGORIES FOR MEMBERSHIP.
ASSOCIATE MEMBER (ASI) : Business leaders with or without degrees.
PROFESSIONAL MEMBER ( PMI) : Individuals with master degree or 1st degree/ HND and not less than 10 years post-graduation work experience.
ASSOCIATE FELLOW IN PUBLIC LEADERSHIP ( AFI) : senior corporate leaders or public servants from level 14 and above. Private individuals with PHD or master degrees and have held leadership position at senior level in private or public service, no less than 15 years.
FELLOW IN PUBLIC LEADERSHIP ( FI) : Public office holders at Directorate cadre and above. Accomplished private individuals that hold a PHD in any discipline or Master’s degree with at least 20 years post graduation, work experience.
HONOURARY FELLOW IN PUBLIC LEADERSHIP( HFI) . Reserved for accomplished individuals in the corporate, education, medical, religious, political and other domains of public leadership. Minimum financial contributions.
HONOURARY DOCTORATE IN PUBLIC LEADERSHIP ( PH.D, Honoris Causa) With different specialties. Reserved for accomplished individuals in the corporate, education, medical, religious, political and other domains of public leadership.
