Eight months after, ASUU suspends strike

Exactly eight months after it began an industrial action to seek enforcement of its long-standing agreement with the Federal Government, the Academic Staff Union of Universities has suspended the strike.

The decision was taken at the end of the National Executive Council meeting which was held at the ASUU secretariat in Abuja.

Details of the agreement between the FG and the union remain sketchy as at the time of this report, the union’s president, Emmanuel Osodeke, is expected to release an official statement later today.
