Why we postponed governorship election -INEC Commissioner

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has confirmed the postponement of governorship and state house of assembly elections scheduled for Saturday, March 11 to March 18, 2023.

In a statement on Wednesday night, INEC National Commissioner for Voter Education, Festus Okoye, said “the elections will hold on Saturday, March 18”

IHe stated that “with court ruling, it becomes too late to conclude the reconfiguration of Bvas for the Elections intially scheduled to hold March 11th, 2023

INEC said that “political campaign will continue until midnight on Thursday March 16th, 2023”

The electoral umpire promises all political parties and their candidates that the data for the presidential and national assembly elections will be backed up and available in INEC’S’ cloud facilities, including it’s result viewing portal.
