A Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday adjourned indefinitely the trial of the Biafra nation agitator, Nnamdi Kanu in the terrorism charges brought against him by the Federal Government. Justice Binta Nyako put off the trial sine die at the instance of Kanu pending the resolution of the Federal Government’s appeal against the October 13 judgment of the Court of Appeal that discharged him from the terrorism charges. Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, is in for another round of trouble as the Federal Government filed an amended seven counts of terrorism against the detained Biafra Republic agitator. The amended charge marked FHC/ABJ/CR/383/2015, was entered before the Federal High Court in Abuja and contained all earlier sustained allegations against the IPOB leader. Appeal Court frees Nnamdi Kanu

The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory on Thursday upheld the appeal of the detained leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu. The court also discharged and acquitted the embattled leader of the proscribed group. Kanu had in his appeal dated April 29 and marked CA/ABJ/CR/625/2022 applied to be discharged and acquitted.
