Here is a brief profile of the dead victims of Monday night’s ill-fated Kaduna bound train.
Though about nine people have so far been confirmed dead, not all have been properly identified.
Meanwhile, many of the injured are currently receiving treatment at hospitals, even as scores are missing, apparently kidnapped by the terrorists.
Among those already confirmed dead is Chinelo Megafu.
Chinelo was a dental surgeon who graduated from the University of Port Harcourt, and had reportedly secured papers to travel abroad to continue her medical practice.
She had tweeted that she was shot during the attack before she died
Musa-Lawal Ozigi, the secretary-general of the Trade Union Congress (TUC) has also been confirmed dead.
He died from injuries sustained in the attack.
Also confirmed dead is Akin Akinsola, the Kwara state chairman of the TUC, was killed during the incident.
Isa Kofar Mata, one of the directors of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), also died in the attack.
