The Ogun state government is to construct communal roads in fledging satellite communities along the Lagos/Ibadan expressway so as to alleviate the plight of commuters and provide a motorable link to the expressway.
The state governor, Dapo Abiodun gave the assurance while speaking in Mowe on Tuesday during the inspection of the ongoing Mowe/Ofada road reconstruction project.
The less than 10km project was one of numerous abandoned projects the current administration inherited from the immediate past administration of Ibikunle Amosun.
According to Gov. Abiodun, communities that would benefit from the road project are Pakuro, where a broken link bridge is under construction, Orimerunmu, Adesan road in Mowe and up to Shote in Ibafo why others will benefit in the next face.
The governor assured that the promise should not be seen as political even though we are in the era of politics but that he understood and felt the pains of commuters and residents of the adjourning communities along the Lagos/Ibadan expressway but for the effects of COVID-19 that hampered the smooth take off of his administration as well as the multiplier effects of the large numbers of abandoned projects by his predecessor across the state and that most of the projects are at advanced stages of completion while others have been completed and commissioned.
The governor also praised the efforts of the member representing Obafemi Owode State constituency, Kayode Soneye for consistently advocating the the demands of his constituency saying most of the demands are now being met with the commencement of the communal roads.
