Oseloka Peter Obi, the United States of America based son of the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi has sparked outrage on social media, particularly on the microblogging network Twitter, now known as X.
The younger obi, a Hollywood actor, film producer, and businessman, was featured in a gay publication, prompting many to doubt his sexual orientation.
The British-Nigerian actor was featured on the top page of the UK Gay Times, defending the LGBTQ community.
He said, “While there are strides being made to represent people, a lot of the representations of queer black people in theatre are not nuanced enough”.
Subsequent photos on social media, although not in the magazine, showed Osaloka with another man lurking into each other.
This sparked reactions from Nigerians on social media who shared mixed opinions. Below are some of the reactions on X, formerly known as Twitter.
The photo has since created an uproar online as some defended his father while others dragged the Labour Party presidential candidate for raising a gay son.

But defending Osaloka, @senatormadu said: “… So someone that was actually acting is now tagged a gay. You left to discuss about the price of fuel, commodities in the market, exchange rate of dollar to naira, high electricity bill, insecurity just to mention but a few.
