Oluseye Arowolo, an editorial board member and columnist of National Infinity magazine was an award winner at the just concluded 39th district conference of Rotary International, District 9110, tagged DisCon 2021 held in Abeokuta, Ogun State, presided over by the district governor, Rtn Bola Oyebade.
Rotarian Arowolo, a legal and chartered tax practitioner with Deloitte West Africa, was decorated among others as a Commander of Order of DisCon (COD), the highest honourary award in D9110.
Arowolo was the best graduating student from the Faculty of Law, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife in 1997. An old student of Government College, Ibadan, 1985 set, He has been a member of the National Tax Policy Implementation Committee since 2017 and his works culminated in the promulgation of the Finance Act, 2019 and 2020, two legislative acts that made far-reaching significant amendments to Nigeria’s extant tax laws and he is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (FCTI as well as Center for International Legal Studies, Austria and Member Nigerian Bar Association.
A well-published author in international journals on tax and regulatory matters across the different sectors of the Nigerian economy, Rtn. Arowolo joined the Rotary Club of Maryland in September 2017 and since then has built an enviable profile in Rotary service and its humanitarian efforts.
Aside from attaining a Major Donor Level 1 of the Rotary Foundation in 2021, he has served and chaired several committees of Rotary Club of Maryland notable of which was his chairmanship of the club’s membership committee in Connect Rotary Year 2019/2020 and under his watch, the Rotary Club of Maryland became the 4th club in the District to attain the much cherished mega-club status on 31 August 2019.
Arowolo’s generous contributions to Rotary both at club and district levels have earned him several commendations and honours such as Rotarian Superstar by The Governor’s Magazine, Prostate Cancer Hero and DEWEF among several others.
