All is not well with the new speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevowre as the lawmaker is battling a allegation of bribing Urhobo traditional rulers in a bid to secure his Delta Central Senatorial ambition.
According to his accusers, the embattled speaker is alleged to have embarked on a bribing spree runing into hundreds of millions of naira in order to secure the support of traditional rulers and leaders of thought in his Delta Central Senatorial base at this critical time when Delta State government is so broke that salaries are not paid and pensioners are crying for their pension.
An instance according to those in the know was June 24, 2017 when the speaker held a close door meeting with the traditional rulers and doled out N10 million to support kola nut for the traditional rulers.
All his extravagance according to sources is with the tacit support of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa who is hell bent on making Hon. Sheriff Oborevowre a senator.
