The Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, on Tuesday, said the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, has been arrested.
Malami stated this at a press briefing at the Ministry of Justice in Abuja on Tuesday.
He said Kanu will soon be brought before the Federal High Court where he jumped bail.
The Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami (SAN), had revealed that Kanu was arrested and brought back to Nigeria on Sunday.
He said the arrest followed a collaborative effort between security agencies in Nigeria and Interpol.
And at about 1:40 pm, Kanu was brought to the court amidst tight security.
Justice Nyako however ordered Kanu to be detained until July 26, 2021 for the continuation of trial.
