Socialite traditional ruler and former President of ASSO, Kabiyesi Oba Abdulfatai Irawo of Odi Olowo has joined his ancestors.
The old-time celebrity monarch died Thursday last week and was buried the following day at his Odi Olowo palace, Mushin, Lagos.
One of the social clubs he helped to establish, Association of Friends, popularly call ASSO released a statement to announce the death of one of their trustees and sent a condolence message to his family.
This is the statement signed by the club’s general secretary, Otunba Bayo Babatunde:
With heavy hearts but in total submission to the wish of Almighty Allah, We in the Association of friends announce the transition to eternity of our indefatigable Board of trustee member and past President, Kabiyesi Oba Abdulfatai Irawo of Odi Olowo, Mushin. He was aged 80 years. Kabiyesi was a foundation member of our club and a great bridge builder.
A successful businessman, real estate guru and socialite of high repute, Kabiyesi was a giant in the social scene in Lagos over the last half a century.
We shall miss his passion, fatherly and wise counsels and also his material contributions to our great club. May the almighty Allah forgive and grant him eternal rest.
