Elder statesman and former governor of Ogun state, Chief Olusegun Osoba has accepted to chair the opening ceremony of the forthcoming Lagos/Ogun Multi-Sector International Trade Fair slated to hold from August 15-17, 2024 at OPIC Event Centre, Lagos/Ibadan Expressway.
Aremo Osoba, whose professional and political life transverse Lagos and Ogun states, was a two-time governor of the Gateway state from January 1992 to November 1993 and later from May 1999 to May 2003, is a living legend and godfather of the journalism profession in Nigeria as well as a dominant figure in its political landscape.
In his reaction to the development, Olajide Ige, the CEO, Lagos/Ogun Multi-Sector Int’l Trade Fair, noted that Osoba’s acceptance will serve as a booster for the project and that it is characteristic of this elder statesman and journalism icon to encourage and mentor entrepreneurs, journalists and politicians across all divides.
He stated that the Lagos/Ogun Multi-Sector Int’l Trade Fair, the first trade fair connecting Lagos and Ogun states, two neighbouring states reputed as both industrial and economic powerhouse of Nigeria will bring together key players from various sectors under one roof, providing a platform for networking, collaboration, and knowledge exchange with unparalleled opportunities to showcase products, services, and expertise to a diverse audience of industry professionals, investors, and consumers.
According to him, the Lagos/Ogun Multi-Sector International Trade Fair is expected to attract exhibitors and participants from within and outside Nigeria especially the West Africa sub-region as a forum for trade and business promotion in Nigeria and West Africa, will serve as a platform for a highly engaging audience where exhibitors and visitors will gain valuable market insights, expand network, and position their organizations as a leader in its field.
