An Apostle is supposedly “a man of God” and he has no business wrestling with controversies that would stain his white garment, provided he stays clear of such, but when he fails to, he finds himself enmeshed in the muddy pig fight as in the case with Apostle Johnson Suleiman of Omega Fire Ministries, Auchi.
Johnson Suleiman, founder of the Omega Fire Ministries was a preacher well known in his Auchi environ and a little beyond until he broke into national limelight with his fiery sermon in Ado Ekiti, capital of Ekiti State, as guest of Ayodele Fayose the state governor who has been in confrontation with the Buhari led federal government at all fronts including the infamous grazing zone created for itinerant Fulani herdsmen.
Apostle Suleiman in his sermon at Ekiti had called for assassination of any Fulani herdsman found near his church. He was also at loggerheads with Nasir el-Rufai, the Kaduna State governor over the killings in the Christian dominated Southern part of Kaduna.
The controversy generated by his “hot sermon” in Ekiti had hardly died down when, a lady, Stephanie Otobo, derided as an ex-stripper in unnamed Canadian clubs, hit the headlines alleging breach of mutual trust and among several others accused Apostle Johnson Suleiman, of dumping her while she was already pregnant for him, having promised her marriage.
Miss Otobo’s attorneys, Festus Keyamo Chambers, had in a letter to the Inspector-General of Police, alleged that her ex-lover and man of God is using the police to silence her.
Keyamo’s letter, according to SaharaReporters, maintained that Apostle Suleiman’s lover, Miss Stephanie Otobo, is a musician based in Ontario, Canada, who goes by the stage name of Kimora and that “she was arrested on March 3 at a United Bank of Africa branch by heavily armed policemen from Federal Criminal Investigations Department (FCID), Alagbon, at the Anthony Village area of Lagos. She has since been in detention, where she has been denied food and visitation by her lawyers.
Apostle Suleiman and Miss Otobo, according to her lawyers, met in September 2016, when she visited Nigeria from her base in Canada. She alleged that they began a relationship, with “Apostle Suleiman telling her that he had divorced his wife and wanted more male children.” The affair was said to have grown stronger and Apostle Suleiman allegedly made a marriage proposal to Miss Otobo, which she accepted. A formal introduction of Apostle Suleiman to her family was said to have taken place and on the occasion of the introduction, Apostle Suleiman allegedly took along drinks and gifts and informed Miss Otobo’s family in Delta state of his desire to marry their daughter.
