Court stops CBN from releasing monthly allocation to Rivers State

The federal high Court in Abuja has stopped the Central Bank of Nigeria CBN from further releasing monthly financial allocations to Rivers state government. The court held that the receipt and disbursement of monthly allocations since January this year by governor Siminalayi Fubara is a Constitutional sommersault and aberration that must not be allowed to continue. Assault of Driver: Court grants Ikwechegh bail

A magistrate court in Kuje, Abuja has granted a member of House of Representatives, Alex Ikwechegh, bail in the sum of N500,000 for the assault of a bolt driver, Stephen Abuwatseya. The lawmaker was arraigned by the police. A post on X by Force Police Public Relations Officer Muyiwa Adejobi read: ”RULE OF LAW: POLICE PROSECUTES HON ALEXANDER IKWEGH FOR ASSAULT.. Tinubu names Oluyede as acting COAS

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Major General Olufemi Oluyede as the Acting Chief of Army Staff. This was announced in a statement released on Wednesday by presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga.
