NewsmakersNG has exclusively uncovered details of the final moments of the late son of All Progressives Congress (APC) leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
According to family and hospital sources, Jide Tinubu, whose death was announced yesterday, suddenly became unconscious in his house, shortly after he returned from an outing to Lekki Central Hotel, where he allegedly took pepper soup and drink with an unidentified friend.
The police boss in Lagos, Mr Imohimi Edgal, is now investigating the mysterious death of the 44-year-old man. NewsmakersNG learnt this much after a chat with family members, staff of the hotel where he took the pepper soup and drink, and the First City Hospital on Osopa London Road, in Ajah area of Lagos, where he was rushed to, before he was referred to the General Hospital on Lagos Island.
According to sources at the hotel and the hospitals, the police boss had visited the places with a team of detectives.
Mr Edgal has also allegedly ordered that the scene at the hotel and his house should be secured.
Further investigations revealed that Jide Tinubu’s body was deposited at the General Hospital yesterday afternoon by two unidentified men.
The family source told NewsmakersNG that the police have quizzed the late Jide’s driver – Adekunle Yusuf and a man identified as Dogana Kentiok, who were met with the corpse.
