Amosun unveils world’s tallest drum as Ogun host drum festival

FB_IMG_1461253681188Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, on Tuesday, April 19, 2016, unveiled the World’s tallest traditional drum as part of the opening ceremony of the National Drums Festival organized by the Ogun State government.

Speaking at the event, just before unveiling the 17-feet traditional drum, Governor Amosun identified the place of culture and tourism in national development.

The Ogun State Governor equally seized the opportunity to reiterate his administration’s commitment towards the promotion of arts and culture.

The first of its kind, the national drums festival was attended by dignitaries from different parts of Nigeria including some African Ambassadors who were led to the event by the Ooni of Ile-Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II.

The four-day event also drew attendance from participants from as far as Kano State and witnessed a parade of drums from different parts of Nigeria.

There were also scintillating performances from drummers including the likes of Ara, Anu and Unique Fingers among others
