Members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State have raised an alarm over an alleged attack by thugs from rival All Progressives Congress (APC)
The attack took place on Wednesday, 26 August, 2020 at the residence of a PDP chieftain in Agbede, Alhaji Issa Usman.
Usman speaking with newsmen, stated that due to the fact that the APC campaign train came to Agbede, PDP members in the community gathered in his house for a low keyed celebration.
“They all came into town: Adams Oshiomhole, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu and Ganiu Audu and their thugs. In other to avoid clashing with them, the PDP members gathered in my house to celebrate with me.
“Suddenly their thugs stormed my residence in two Sienna buses, fully loaded with their thugs and armed to the teeth with dangerous weapons. They attacked us and at the end, five people were injured and rushed to the hospital,” he said.
Usman stayed further that the matter was reported to the police which has necessitated security being beefed up around him and his residence.
